 Medway Roller Dance Club provides fun on roller skates and opportunities to develop roller skating skills to people of all ages and ability levels. 

 

Everone is invited to come along to our 'drop in' Club Session on Saturdays at 3.30-5.00pm at Woodlands Primary School Sports and Arts Centre, Woodlands Road, Gillingham, Kent.

Complete Beginners are welcome.

 

Dance skates, disco, in line or strap on roller skates can be worn.The club has roller dance skates available for hire. 

 

The Club Session includes general skating , games with prizes and some coaching of basic roller skating, dance and free skating skills,   Federation of Artistic Roller Skating (FARS) Basic Grades 1 to 6 are taught in the Club Session and badges can be earned. 

 

Refreshments are available.

Lessons in Roller Dance Figure and Free Skating lessons are available for Beginners, Intermediate and Advanced Skaters.

 

 Club members have opportunities to take part in competitions held within the club as well as inter club competitions.

 

More advanced skaters compete in National Competitions run by FARS and several members have been chosen to skate internationally as part of the British Artistic Roller Skating Team

The Club achieved Sport England's Clubmark accreditation in October 2009.  This is awarded to Clubs which can demonstrate high standards of management and which provide high quality, safe and fair Sporting opportunities.

 

Medway Roller Dance Club was shortlisted for 'Junior Club of the Year' in the 2009 Medway Sports Awards.

The Club is well known for its stunning display skating.

 

Club members perform spectacular Shows and Pantomimes on Roller Skates.  All Club Members are invited to take part regardless of age and ability level.

 

Groups of skaters have performed displays at various local events and have skated live three times on Blue Peter.
